"Not enough posters" is right, EZJ. I would love to see a swamped message board, but don't get your hopes up. Changing the mindset of most readers will come verrrrrrry grrrrrradually.
Although I am inspired by the contributions for SQUARED CIRCLE and the new faces that pop up during our CHAT SESSIONS.
Hey boyz. Don't forget about YOUR INSIDER, the writers and the contibutors to the Squared Circle.
The problem is that it's always the SAME people for everything, whether it's match writers, columnists or participants to chat sessions. Too many Indians (Native Americans?), not enough chiefs. Too many passengers, not enough engineers. Whatever the analogy, from where I sit, we could use more participation from others.
I was going to sit out the Squared Circle, not becuase I wanted to, but because I actually (I'll use the word "actually" here in lieu of "foolishly") thought that this would be a springboard to get some opinions from others, which would be refreshing. But when I saw it was that it was the old guard (I mean that as a complement) in Jan, Chris, EZJ & STARR, I chimed in, as well. Heck, I think I did it in about an hour, a miracle for my writing.
I don't mean to sound negative but if I don't express this a little now then I'll come off sounding worse later on, at some point. All I'm trying to say is that some extra participation would go a long way in tangibly showing Eddie that all the work he pours into the site is appreciated.
Lita hasn't been the same since her neck injury. Her popularity peaked during the Hardy Boys/Dudley Boys/Edge & Christian feuds. Looking back, I don't think Lita was ever really technically sound as a wrestler. Great body, but she doesn't seem motivated to get better in the ring like Victoria or Trish. Mickie seems to be on the right path.
Fitness girls are still around, but I feel their ranks are diluted with the creation of separate FIGURE and FITNESS categories. It's hard to establish "superstars" like those of old (Brant, Fadhli, Finnegan, Kruck) when so many women compete for attention. Many good ones, like Danielle Edwards, show up and are gone before long.
You're probably right about the passive nature of the FWF, Chris. Still, it would be encouraging if the casual fans would let their voices be heard once in a while. Great contribution on the SQUARED CIRCLE.

That's true but Lita, unmotivated and at 50%, is still better than watching Maria or Candice try to perform in the tring.

It just seems to me that there is a lot of matches featuring Andrulla Blanchette or Beate Drabing and not a lot of, for instance, Cori Nadine. At least, not like it used to be.

Times change, writers come and go, and the FWF stories will reflect this. As I have been writing almost exclusively for the HW side of the FWF I have to agree that there are probably more matches than there used to be featuring girls like Beate and Andrulla. But at the same time there is still plenty of variety out there. Also, from my own point of view, I do try to balance things out in the HW Division with girls like April Hunter, Carolyn Evans, Colleen Sauve, and yes, Amy Dumas (aka Lita in some other minor wrestling league). Sometimes the matches do feature two bodybuilders, but equally I like to do the musclegirl v fitness type match, take a look at the Carolyn Evans v Dayana effort on Madness. That match seems to have been pretty popular. We will never put out a mix of girls that pleases every reader, but I think that we do cover the field pretty well. Let's have some more opinions please.
I didn't mean to come off as a Lita, or Amy Dumas, fan. My point with the WWE comment was more that Maria in the ring is painful to watch. As far as the FWF goes, I noticed that she's getting an Ok push, although I'd prefer the aforementioned Carolyn Evans.
You guys do good work. It is just that I like stuff like this
