Sad news coming in, folks. Eddie Guerrero has passed away (1967-2005). No signs of foul play as evidence points to a possible heart failure that happened in his hotel room.
It's been months since I've paid serious attention to the WWE, but Eddie was always a charismatic character with the skills to work one helluva match. I first became a fan watching him on WCW. He'll definitely be missed.
His greatest match has to have been from the ECW days with Dean Malenko. For a federation known for smashmouth, hardcore brawling, it was the most incredible technical match I've seen in watching wrestling for over twenty years.
I'm still in shock. Watching RAW was not easy tonight. I got choked up several times as Eddie has been a great performer for years. Seeing Chavo, Rey Rey and Benoit speak should have welled everyone's eyes up.
Not only was he a great entertainer and a great wrestler but the common theme among everyone who spoke on RAW was how great a person he was, how he loved the fans and how he loved his family. It just goes to show that you never know. Don't go to bed mad and let people know you care about them and let people close to you know that you love them. There's nothing wrong with guys showing emotion.
Thanks for all the laughter and memories Eddie Guerrero.
