"WTF is the delay?" There's a good reason for the delay, my anonymous friend. And it escapes those who haven't walked my shoes. It is simply this: I am one man trying to run an entire fantasy league with only a handful of faithful writers at my side.
This is something I do free of charge. So for all the hours I spend making images and coding HTML, my only payoff is the appreciation of the writers and readers. And when I get those emails of appreciation, I can't tell you how good they feel!
I have asked for help, time and again, in maintaining the site, but only one other person codes HTML. If you'd really like to see the shows come out more often than once a month .... once every two months ... then perhaps you'd like to volunteer your talents with the HTML or images or Insider.
If you must rant and rave, I've included my email in this post. I welcome criticism (even though they tend to be more personal than constructive) but I surely do not appreciate the way you've phrased your last post. And I hope I've taken it the wrong way because it reads very personal to me.
I'm not going to rant and rave here but I can't imagine how much work Eddie has to put into this site. Yeah, it's one thing to imagine the work involved by can you really comprehend it? I can't. But I'm glad I found out about this site 3 years ago and I get a ton of enjoyment out of it. So much so that I actually started writing Insider colums. Sure, we all would love the shows to occur a little more regularly. But Eddie needs help. At least I'm man enough to admit that helping with the things that Eddie needs direct help with is not my forte so I take solace in the fact that I make an indirect contribution.
So either do somethin' about. Or don't do somethin' about it and enjoy the shows when they come out no matter how long overdue you feel they are. But if you choose to do nothing about it then at least STFU (if anyone wants to know what this stands for then don't hesitate to ask me. I just want to seem a little professional in my approach.)
And one more thing. If you can't make a point without being constructive about it or make it seem like you are capable of writing one then at least have the nutsack to attach your real name to it.
I can understand Eddie's feelings, he puts in more work that anybody. I can understand Geoff too. He's the show's number one fan and a passionate defender. But it is mainly the writers who are to blame for the delay (for a variety of reasons) and we should all try to keep to deadlines.
Also... isn't it just great that someone should be so excited by the FWF and that they are so eager to see the next episode?
I just want to say that I am not intending to drive any fans away, although my feelings regarding the siutation remain the same. Eddie deserves to be backed up here.
Enthusiasm to see the next show is great but it might not occur as frequently as everyone wants if Eddie doesn't get more help. But if you have a point to make, then make it. There are enough words in the English language to do so without offending somebody. And even if you feel it's necessary to make an impact by saying something that might offend somebody then at least attach your name to it. I don't think that's too much to ask.
I too must stand behind Viraleus (gotta stay in charachter ) on this one.
Almost singlehandedly, he has created and nutured this site for the enjoyment of others. One that the fans can enjoy updates to every 4-7 weeks at NO COST to them. No financial reward, simply the satisfaction that the fans of the FWF are enjoying the effort. Kudos to the other writers and a huge thumbs up to our leader.
While the writers put the storylines, angles and profiles on paper, it is Viraleus who nearly singlehandedly puts the material together so that everybody can enjoy. For anybody to post such a unappreciative, low comment like the one above is not only disrespectful to Eddie and the writer's efforts, but is also borderline cruel.
While I do appreciate that we have such rabid fans (yeah, we writers are a bit egotistical at heart), pi$$ed_off should have given more thought to his comments. Next time there is a delay like the latest one, please remember....WE HAVE LIVES! And as often is the case, life gets in the way of our plans from time to time. So next time, just take a deep breath and have a little bit more patience as we bring you (hopefully ) several more years of enjoyable matches and beautiful women.
